Your Elopement at the Jedediah Smith Redwoods Awaits.............

Have you been thinking about eloping and the Redwoods are on that list of top places for your big day? Jedediah Smith Redwoods has some of the largest trees and many perks in the area. If you have been considering an intimate elopement but are not sure where to start?

I would love to walk you through the Elopement of Nicole and James and their simple yet elegant elopement starting in the Jedediah smith state redwoods and adventuring through the redwoods to the Oregon Coastline of the Samuel H Boardman corridor. First lets talk a little about their love story and then go into the details of their elopement and how the day went with me (their Elopement Photographer)

Nicole + James

James and Nicole met on January 16, 2020 at their local rock climbing gym. Nicole asked James to top-rope with her, as she needed a climbing partner. He said yes and afterwards he joined her for dinner at a bar and grill down the street. They would hike, climb, and camp together as much as they could while Nicole finished the last couple years of law school.

In Nicole's own words: In December of 2022, we moved in together in an apartment, and on April 22, 2023, we got engaged while hiking in New York.
Once we decided we were eloping, we began looking at forest and mountain areas and national parks, as we're both outdoorsy people and love being in nature. The redwoods have always been at the top of my bucket list and James thought the giant trees were cool and liked that the beach was nearby. Once we looked at more photos, it was a no brainer to get married in the redwoods!

That is when they reached out to me at Dezerae Jobe Photography (https://www.dezeraejobephotography.net) and we started planning out the day. Nicole and James wanted something very private, intimate and adventurous without being rushed. We bounced ideas back and forth and started the permit process. Nicole got her approved permit for Simpson Reed within the Jedediah smith redwoods. After looking through locations and finalizing the details of day we started to put the pieces together and build the timeline.

 Details are as following:

Ceremony: Simpson Reed

Adventure 1: Stout Grove

Adventure 2: Drive & Explore Howland Hill Road to Crescent City

Dinner: Black Trumpet Bistro

Reception and beach adventure: Lone Ranch Beach picnic

The Elopement Day

We started at this beautiful little Airbnb just mins from the Redwoods and it was spectacular. Both Nicole and James got ready at the Airbnb ( James got ready upstairs). Hair and makeup was done by the time I arrived by Beauty Beyond by Clelia.

I grabbed the dress and grabbed some quick details before getting the bride into the dress and jumping directly into their first look at the cutest little Airbnb ever that is tucked into the mighty Redwoods with a whimsical feel.

From there we jumped into the car and headed into the Jedediah Smith Redwoods to Simpson Reed to find the perfect location for the ceremony. After meeting the officiant; We all walked the trail for about 5 mins until both Nicole and James found the spot that really grabbed their attention. Once they found that spot we got started at these two love birds said their I 'Do's under the towing redwoods. After the ceremony we departed from the officiant and started exploring the trails of Simpson Reed and really taking in the area and all it has to offer. We then went on to explore other areas of Jedediah Smith State Park including Stout Grove and Boy Scout Tree Trail.

After exploring the mighty Redwoods We then headed to the Samuel H Boardman Corridor to spend the remainder of the time and sunset at Lone Ranch Beach for a private reception.

We swung into Black Trumpet Bistro for the food order pickup. We setup the beach for the reception, ate dinner, and finished the day exploring the beach and cliff side as the sunset.
